 FOOTFALL

Footfall was the second of the three consecutive performances presented over a single evening. As all were presented in one space the changes between pieces were made evident through lighting and projection changes, shifts in soundscapes and the differing personas of performers.

Footfall was created to be an immersive performance. Performers invited audience members to walk with them proceeding to leave them in pre-discussed areas of the space. While the audience was always free to reject the performers’ requests or to move from the spot where they had been left, many accepted and remained still until requested to move again. As it was difficult to distinguish between performers and audience members some audience members were able to act like performers – moving others around as they liked.
