 CONCOURSE

Concourse was the end result of a flexible scripting technique. The script for this piece was a combination of texts, conversational points and illustrations. This piece allowed the performer a great deal of freedom as they could demonstrate/vocalise the script in any order and react to the audience's responses.

Unlike many of my other pieces this performance included observation of human character and posture - the outside location making it easy to use the general public as examples to illustrate the conversation.

The aim was to create a performance that could very nearly be real life. While the audience for this work had been directed to sit in a certain area and were aware that a performance of some kind would then happen, it would also be completely possible to perform this piece to members of the pubic without them realising it was a scripted and rehearsed production. While I have explored street performance before, this piece differed in that it only impacted the intended audience.
